What happened
That I have lost
The one perspective, the only
Perspective
With which to correctly
View you?
Can I, at a minimum,
Have enough of a dose
That when I look at you,
Or you, or me
I see nothing short
Of extraordinary.
How vastly small
Against it all are we
But of the this and the that
Of our vast surroundings–
Black
Arrive you
In front of me.
Please
Endow me the one vision not untrue:
You, from the demise of a star came,
A roiling cauldron
Tearing across space
Now standing in front of me,
A Pilar of Creation
The humbling, coral beauty of your eyes
Harvested from the shores of Orion
Your curves like the Rings of Relativity
Formed by undulating, hot phenomena
And your sturdy spine
Swiped from nebula
Your movements graceful, orchestral
Like the slow, sultry, swirl of
galaxies spiral, elongated and irregular
And of your mysteries, many, like alien auorae
Even your troubling thoughts
Rogue waves of dark matter
And our passion–stars colliding
Raging with intense heat
Please
Never let me forget
What it is I have been gifted
By encountering you–
The inexplicable beauty and
Power of our universe
Come true.

Maybe the best criticism is only a sound. Like the kind one makes when eating something delicious or when the spirit enters you at a Baptist church service and the asserting "uhuum" bubbles out before an amen. Idk. But I was ooohing and aching throughout. Great stuff
Beautiful read 👏🏽
